About this tool

Watermarks deter casual reuse and reinforce brand on portfolio shots and social posts. This tool draws text over your decoded image and saves a new PNG; for tile patterns or logos as image watermarks, use design software—here we focus on fast text overlays.

Controls

  • Drag & drop, paste, or browse
  • Five positions

FAQ

Is a text watermark legal protection?

It is a deterrent and attribution signal, not a substitute for copyright registration or licensing contracts. Jurisdiction matters: commercial reuse may still happen; combine watermarks with proper terms of use and takedown processes for stolen work.

Can someone remove my watermark?

Yes—inpainting, crops, and contrast tricks can hide simple text, especially on uniform backgrounds. Position near important detail (without ruining the art) and keep originals offline; never publish the only high-res master if theft is a concern.

Why PNG output?

Re-saving JPEG would introduce another lossy generation on top of your watermark strokes. PNG keeps the composited pixels crisp, including alpha if your source had transparency (text still flattens atop that layer).

Font looks tiny on 4K exports—how should I scale?

Font size is in CSS pixels relative to the bitmap height. For very large photos, raise the pixel size until the text reads well at the intended viewing resolution; preview on a phone if social delivery is the goal.

RTL languages or emoji in the watermark?

The canvas `fillText` path uses basic shaping; complex scripts and color emoji may render differently than in native OS text fields. For marketing-critical Arabic/Indic layouts, verify the PNG visually before publishing.

Batch many photos?

This page processes one file at a time for simplicity and privacy. For hundreds of assets, scripting with ImageMagick, sharp, or desktop Lightroom export presets will beat manual repetition.
